چکیده

In this paper, we present an efficient strategic/tactical planning model for offshore oilfield development problem that is fairly generic and can be extended to include other complexities. The proposed multiperiod non-convex MINLP model for multi-field site includes three components (oil, water and gas) explicitly in the formulation using 3 rd and higher order polynomials avoiding bilinear and other nonlinear terms. With the objective of maximizing total NPV for long-term planning horizon, the model involves decisions related to FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) installation and expansion schedule and respective oil, liquid and gas capacities, connection between the fields and FPSOs, well drilling schedule and production rates of these three components in each time period. The resulting model can be solved effectively with DICOPT for realistic instances and gives good quality solutions. Furthermore, the model can be reformulated into an MILP after piecewise linearization and exact linearization techniques that can be solved globally in an efficient way. Solutions of realistic instances involving 10 fields, 3 FPSOs, 84 wells and 20 years planning horizon are reported, as well as comparisons between the computational performance of the proposed MINLP and MILP formulations.

Optimal Development Planning of Offshore Oil and Gas Field Infrastructure under Complex Fiscal Rules

The optimal development planning of offshore oil and gas fields has received significant attention in recent years. In this paper, we present an efficient investment and operational planning model for this problem which is fairly generic, and is extended to include fiscal considerations. With the objective of maximizing total NPV for long-term planning horizon, the proposed non-convex multiperi...

An Integrated Approach for Facility Location and Supply Vessel Planning with Time Windows

This paper presents a new model of two-echelon periodic supply vessel planning problem with time windows mix of facility location (PSVPTWMFL-2E) in an offshore oil and gas industry. The new mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) modelconsists ofa fleet composition problem and a location-routing problem (LRP). The aim of the model is to determine the size and type of large vessels in the fi...

Multistage stochastic programming approach for offshore oilfield infrastructure planning under production sharing agreements and endogenous uncertainties

The paper presents a new optimization model and solution approach for the investment and operations planning of offshore oil and gas field infrastructure. As compared to previous models where fiscal rules and uncertainty in the field parameters are considered separately, the proposed model is the first one in the literature that includes both of these complexities in an efficient manner. In par...

A Comparative Study of the Neural Network, Fuzzy Logic, and Nero-fuzzy Systems in Seismic Reservoir Characterization: An Example from Arab (Surmeh) Reservoir as an Iranian Gas Field, Persian Gulf Basin

Intelligent reservoir characterization using seismic attributes and hydraulic flow units has a vital role in the description of oil and gas traps. The predicted model allows an accurate understanding of the reservoir quality, especially at the un-cored well location. This study was conducted in two major steps. In the first step, the survey compared different intelligent techniques to discover ...

A Multistage Stochastic Programming Approach for the Planning of Offshore Oil or Gas Field Infrastructure Under Decision Dependent Uncertainty

The planning of offshore oil or gas field infrastructure under uncertainty is addressed in this paper. The main uncertainties considered are in the initial maximum oil or gas flowrate, recoverable oil or gas volume and water breakthrough time of the reservoir, which are represented by discrete distributions. Furthermore, it is assumed that these uncertainties are not immediately realized, but a...
